Employee Spotlight: Tania Mattos

System Implementation Specialist

For Tania, credentialing has never been just a process. It’s been the control point for how healthcare organizations actually function.

Now a System Implementation Specialist at Acorn, she focuses on helping providers move from intake to fully onboarded, credentialed, and enrolled without unnecessary delays. Her day-to-day work is centered on maintaining clean data, tightening workflows, and proactively managing the details that keep providers moving forward.

Because in her experience, the details are what determine everything.

With over a decade in credentialing and provider enrollment, Tania has seen how fragmented data across systems like CAQH, payer portals, and internal records can quietly create delays, rework, and missed opportunities. What she enjoys most is solving that challenge.

She’s at her best when bringing structure to complexity. Standardizing data. Creating visibility. Building workflows that turn what was once inconsistent into something reliable and repeatable.

And that work has real impact.

In a previous role, she identified and resolved an enrollment issue tied to mismatched CAQH data that had prevented a provider group from billing with a major payer. Once corrected, the group was able to quickly return in-network and begin seeing patients again, restoring both access and revenue.

Experiences like that have shaped how she views credentialing today.

It’s not administrative work happening in the background. It’s a critical driver of when providers can start practicing, when organizations can generate revenue, and how quickly patients can access care. Even small inconsistencies can create ripple effects across the entire system.

That’s why she sees data integrity as one of the biggest challenges organizations face today. It’s not just about collecting information. It’s about maintaining alignment and accuracy across every system it touches.

At Acorn, she sees a fundamentally different approach.

A platform that structures credentialing and enrollment into a standardized workflow, centralizes data, and enforces consistency at every step. That structure reduces variability, minimizes delays, and gives teams the visibility they need to stay ahead of issues instead of reacting to them.

Before joining Acorn, Tania held senior roles at Vohra Physician Group, TeamHealth, and Mednax, where she managed full enrollment lifecycles, led teams, and built deep expertise in CAQH management, primary source verification, and multi-state credentialing.

Outside of work, she brings that same discipline and curiosity into her personal interests. She’s a cryptocurrency content creator with a growing audience, an active trader across markets, and someone who values time spent traveling to Puerto Rico, recharging near the ocean, and spending time with her dog, Nova.

What keeps her at Acorn is the alignment between her experience and the company’s mission.

A platform built by people who understand the problem. A team focused on solving real inefficiencies. And an opportunity to be part of building a better foundation for how healthcare operates.
